just use ‘capitalize’ instead of ‘lowercase’

I have 2 unresolved issues.
1) the excerpts are not showing on my articles just the thumbnail and title.
2) the right sidebar you have categories with article listing, can’t seem to get this part working.

i know only one excerpts is showing…
I really didn’t do anything different to my articles since it was just a theme change.
it is working fine in my end and demo site. (did you clear cache prior to testing?)
if the code change i gave you earlier still did not work then it must some setup or plugin filtering your post the_content() or the_excerpt()
try check any plugin that cause this.

On this theme, there is a block on the left with topics categorized.
I would like the same block but i would like to have other pages with other categories. For example :
Page 1 –> Category 1, 2, 3, 4
